Wrapping Up and Continuing the Discussion
A few technical problems--at the UR end and elsewhere--didn't stop the talks. We ended the day on a Skype conference call with entry into an Adobe Connect room for two presentations and the attendant discussions.
To continue the discussions we started and to start new ones, we'd like to:
1. Invite the various presenters to summarize their key points on the blog for this site.
2. Ask the participants to talk about what they found interesting, useful, etc.
3. Start blog posts and discussions about the topics we didn't get to cover.
In other words, let's keep the virtual unconference going through the year!
Tomorrow, the MAALLT business meeting and plans for the future. We'll send out the Ustream address tomorrow morning.

Do you have something to say? Is there a discussion in which you'd like to participate? Two of the meeting rooms are equipped with Skype, so let us know what you'd like to share.
To get to campus, check out the discussion forum posts that link to both directions to campus and to a campus map.
All events of MAALLT 2011 will take place in the Carole Weinstein International Center. This new building faces both the new football stadium and the admissions building, so it is hard to miss. The name is carved in stone on the building itself.
The opening reception is in the International Center Commons, a ground-floor space off the courtyard. Registration, Saturday breakfast, and Saturday's morning break will also be in the Commons.
People who need parking passes--and everyone with a car needs a parking pass--can pick them up at registration.
The Global Studio and the classrooms we will be using are on the second floor of the International Center. The Spatial Analysis Lab is on the third floor.
There are several major events--including the Picasso exhibit and the CAA basketball tournament--in Richmond the weekend of March 4. However, as of February 15, very reasonable hotel rooms are still available on West Broad Street. I checked the Baymont, the Days Inn, and the Hampton Inn and Suites. The first two are closest to campus--University guests often stay at the Days Inn--but all are within a reasonable distance. I did not check the many other hotels on or near West Broad, but every major chain is represented.
